Abstract

Two famous Jewish painters, the German Max Lieberman (1847-1935) and the Dutch Jozef Israëls ( 1824 – 1911), were close friends. They both painted physicians who were their close acquaintances. This article pays tribute to these two painters and the physicians they immortalized in their paintings.
